Meet Me

My journey into counselling began through nursing. After graduating from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a Bachelor of Nursing in 2006, I began my career as a psychiatric nurse, where my passion for mental health first took root. Early in my career, I saw how deeply connected our physical and mental health truly are—and how difficult it can be to experience lasting wellness when emotional pain, trauma, or mental health concerns remain unaddressed.

That understanding has shaped the way I approach care ever since. As both a Registered Nurse and Canadian Certified Ccounsellor, I believe in supporting the whole person. My approach is holistic, trauma-informed, and grounded in compassion, connection, and respect for each person’s unique experiences.

My work is also informed by my own lived experience with trauma. I understand how powerful it can be to finally feel seen, heard, and supported without judgment. That experience has strengthened my commitment to creating a counselling space where clients can feel safe to be themselves, explore difficult experiences at their own pace, and reconnect with their own strengths and resilience.

I am particularly passionate about supporting people who have experienced traumatic or high-stress events. I have a special interest in working with veterans, military members, first responders, police officers, and others whose work may regularly expose them to trauma. I have completed additional training through Wounded Warriors Canada, a national mental health service provider specializing in culturally informed support for Trauma Exposed Professionals, Organizations, and their families.

After more than 20 years of supporting individuals and families through vulnerable and challenging moments, I continue to be inspired by the resilience people carry within them. My goal is to provide a genuine, compassionate, and safe therapeutic relationship where you feel understood and supported—not only in moving through what has happened to you, but in discovering what healing and a meaningful life can look like moving forward.
