Empathic Care Counselling
Welcome
You Are In The Right Place
I am a registered Nurse and Canadian Certified Counsellor with a deep commitment to supporting individuals in their journey towards meaningful, whole-person wellness.
I graduated from the Bachelor of Nursing program at Memorial university of Newfoundland in 2006 and began my career in mental health nursing, driven by a long-standing interest in understanding human behaviour and the vital role mental health plays in overall well-being.
Over the years, I expanded my nursing practice to include diverse clinical settings such as medicine, surgery, intensive care, and public health. These experiences combined with my own lived experiences, shaped a foundational belief that physical and mental health cannot be separated. True wellness exists at the intersection of both, and lasting healing requires attention to the whole person. This understanding led me to peruse advanced training in counselling, so I could more fully support individuals in addressing both emotional and physical aspects of their health.
I completed a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University in New Brunswick, along with additional certifications in a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
My work is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and a strong respect for each clients unique story. I strive to create a safe and supportive space where clients can explore, challenges, deepen self-understanding and reconnect with their strengths. By integrating my nursing background with counselling practice, I support clients in recognizing the mind-body connection and beginning a journey towards balance, resilience, and overall wellness.
